• 5.0 out of 5 stars from Dr. Death -- EC Archives at an affordable price! : I may have missed out on the golden era of comics but thanks to Dark Horse Archives, I now can relive what I had originally missed. Impressive reprinting with full color plates brings these heavy handed tales back from the tomb or trash barrel. Collectors: Do not miss out on these glorious beauties and now available in an enjoyable trade edition. I was catapulted back to the 1950's while reading these horrific tales of revenge, twist endings, wrongs avenged, and other injustices all told in that wild EC style! All the talent from back in the day is here as well with beautifully reprinted stories and all original artwork! Bring them on! ( Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2021 )
• 5.0 out of 5 stars from DRM -- Now this really shows EC as it would be through it's history : Gorgeous art and stories that are definitely in the EC style. People who take advantage of people meet with gruesome fates and people who like to do nasty things befall the same kind of treatment. Some stories can be a little obvious. A guy who likes to kill and skin animals of course is killed and skinned by an animal. A guy who likes to tear flowers apart is of course pulled apart by an alien plant. Some are a little ridiculous but still fun. There are also the Shock stories. Stories about bigotry and hate can be quite powerful. Sometimes they do push the envelope a bit too far and is less effective. But we really didn't see stories like this again until Green Lantern/Green Arrow. ( Reviewed in Canada on September 22, 2021 )
