  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Fraxinus -- An Absolute Delight : This book delves into many of Miri's insecurities-- you know that inner voice that tells you that no matter what you are doing, it is not enough. Because even though Miri has embraced her magic, she is still left with the stigmas that go with her special brand of magic. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from CS -- Always a great choice to read : If you’re ready for a kick ass book to read- pick up A Shade Too Far, by Deborah Wilde. Her books are always one of my favorites. They are so good I re-read them! Pick this series up! You won’t regret it! ( Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Butterflies & Birch Reviews -- Excellent story : This book held my attention til the last page which is not often. The likeable characters with a great plot and a peppering of intelligent humor is an awesome combination. I like that the series has humor that balances some of the darker elements for the books that don't seem too heavy. I'm not a fan of the strong language that Miri uses around her daughter. Miri doesn't mind that her 16 year old daughter uses this same language. I have a 16 year old daughter and cringe at the thought of encouraging this. It's not that I think it's wrong but it seems disrespectful to others and weak that other less offensive words couldn't be used. If a child or teenagers was not present, I would not find it so annoying. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Erin -- Deborah Wilde Outdoes Herself On A Shade Too Far : I am agog. This book is by far my new favorite of Deborah Wilde’s. And that’s saying a lot. It is the quintessential third book of a slow burn series and truly has it all. Without giving anything away we have heartbreaking backstories which turn once interesting characters into ones who I am dying know more about in future books. The relationship between Miri and Laurent is rife with twists and turns as demon artifact she is after knocks them for a few loops as things begin to heat up between the two of them. Talk about steam. And it wouldn’t be a Deborah Wilde book without moments of laugh out loud hilarity involved. If you haven’t picked up this PWF series yet because you weren’t sure of where this series was going, let this review be the one to convince you. A Shade of Myself can’t come soon enough! • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kindle Customer -- Loved it : Now this series is basically a slow burn when it comes to romance, but with all the magic, you forget you want Laurent and Miri to go at it lol. I love the whole aspect of life after 40, basically finally being able to put yourself first and Miri has definitely stepped up her game. With death curses, temporary loss of magic, family life, so much brings Miri down and frustrated. Life doesn't go your way or the way you want it, no matter how good of a person you are. But she keeps going, never giving up and finding a way through. I can't wait for the next one! ( Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from codybop -- Love Wilde’s work : I’ve read 3 of the author’s series and they are all funny with strong supernatural storylines and well-rounded characters. What I really love is her unique (at least to me) use of Judaism and Jewish characters. While I imagine there is still a healthy dose of creative license, Having been brought up Christian, I enjoy learning about the Jewish religion as well as their folklore and mythology. And it’s not another heroine clutching the gold cross around her neck. My only complaint - I wish both the books and the series were longer. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kindle Customer -- Wonderful! Snarky and humorous as always, violence thrown in! : As usual, well written with insights into the human condition. Ms Wilde never fils to deliver. Love her books, even more so as she is one of the very few authors I can read without worrying about bad spelling, grammar, and stupid mistakes! That.irka me no end and Ms Wilde is very thorough while being an excellent storyteller! I recommend this series especially if you love a good story filled with humor!👍🏾👍🏾 ( Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Rock Rose -- Frustration and Sizzle : This is a story about a pair of horrifying gloves. Yes our favorite characters are there, some wanting to destroy them, others wanting to save them. The history buffs will love this one, just as much as the romantics will. But first everything will fall apart, Miriam will make some huge blunders, and genocide will threaten all she holds dear. So make sure you have tissues handy, and buckle up for one hell of a book. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from MrsR. -- Fab ♥️ - no spoiler review : Well, where to start with what I love about this book because I love eeeverything about it! There’s a lot happening in Miri’s life, both working and personal, with the two inevitably intertwined. I adore Miri, who handles everything that’s thrown at her - even the wtf moments - with sass and strength, but even when she’s vulnerable and hurting, she pulls up her big girl pants, gets on with stuff and finds a way. I’m not normally a laugh out loud when reading person, you might get a smile or an internal ‘ha’, but I did laugh aloud with this book, so many funny moments, lines and references. Emmet grew on me a lot, as did Tatiana and Zev - and as for sexy shifter Laurent, I’ll just say I’d like him on me, growing or otherwise 😁 love the slow burn romance build up between him and Mitzi, so deliciously done 🥰 🥵 wonderful writing, yet again by Deborah Wilde. I’m loving this series so much! I don’t want it to end, but when it does I’ll be rereading it for sure. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 27, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Debs -- Amazing series! : To quote Little Simz, Miri sometimes feels a little ‘misguided, misunderstood, misjudged’ while doing her best to ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 21, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Lindsay -- Great series : I just love this series I’m not sure if it’s the intermingling of Jewish mysticism, imperfect characters wonderful scene setting or just the well thought out plot. Book one in this series was the first Deborah Wilde book I read but I’ve gone on to read everything I can get my hands on and have loved them all. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Tazzey -- I found a new kickass heroine!!! : I adore Mitzi and her family, Laurent is a great character and all the adventures they shared had to end up with them in bed. I loved Emmet the funky sentient golom. Something in each of the 4 books has made me laugh out loud. I'm even quite like Zem the vampire boss. Can't wait for book 5 ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 25, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kindle Customer -- The characters are sublime! : Really love where she took the story in this book. Fantastic as always! Just live Helen's writing, she's the bomb! ( Reviewed in Canada on October 20, 2021 )
